On October 15, 16 and 17, the Manitoba Association of Cheerleading (M.A.C.) will host the first ever Cheerleading Conference. The conference will be held at the Viscount Gort Hotel in Winnipeg and bring in the biggest names in cheerleading from the U.S.A., including Jim Lord, director for AACCA (The American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Administrators) to train, certify and assist our coaches, judges, advisors and parents.

M.A.C. has watched the cheerleading population grow each year from hosting small competitions in school gyms to selling out at the Investors Group Gym at the University of Manitoba. With this growth, comes a demand for high-level certification and safety training. Like no other event before in Manitoba’s cheerleading history, the Cheer Conference will be open to not only train coaches and judges but also advisors and parents.

Safety has become the number one concern in the sport of cheerleading. The demand to increase a team’s skill level for competition has parents and school boards asking for an increase in safety protocol. M.A.C. has responded with the Cheer Conference as a way to train all involved to the highest level possible.
