Coaching Credentialer

Cheer Manitoba is looking to add to our credentialing team!  The hours and times of work will be based on need which varies from season to season. 

 

Requirements:

  • Must demonstrate a strong comprehension of all aspects of the sport of Cheerleading and its related Rules. Including but not limited to:

    • Familiarity with safe execution of both tumbling and stunting techniques through all levels of cheerleading.

    • Ability to arrange and organize a practice with appropriate drill to skill ratios as well as warm up, cool down and conditioning knowledge.

    • Ensures safety of each athlete through proper progression of skills and appropriate levelling of athletes.

    • Ability to complete an accurate biomechanical analysis of the cheer skill components and provide appropriate conditioning, drills and instruction in order to demonstrate the steps involved in safe skill progression.

    • Ability to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of each individual athlete in order to modify skills and train them accordingly.

    • Possess a strong attention to detail in regard to technique and safety of skill execution and athlete progression.

    • Must be currently credentialled to Level 5 in both tumbling and stunting with the ability to pass both sections in levels 6 and 7 at time of selection.

    • Must have all the coaching requirements as set forth by Cheer Manitoba complete. Candidate is required to keep these qualifications up to date for the duration of their time in this position.

    • Ability to remain analytical and unbiased in testing and evaluation situations.

    • Knowledge of alternative, appropriate technique(s).

 

The ideal candidate will have the following strongly recommended, but not required, additional experience and abilities:

  • Have 5+ years of experience in the cheerleading community as either a coach, assistant coach and/or certified judge.

  • Ability to obtain IASF safety and legality judge designation.

  • Demonstrate a considerable history of participation in continued coaching education. This may be shown through proven attendance at different coaching conferences as well as any additional relevant NCCP course, safety and inclusivity in sport courses or the like.

  • Special consideration will be given to those applicants with a background in Kinesiology, Biomechanics, Anatomy and Exercise Physiology.
