Concussion Awareness

Concussions can occur while participating in any sport or recreational activity. Since the circumstances under which a concussion can be sustained are so varied, it’s important for all coaches, parents, and athletes to be aware of the signs, symptoms, and what to do if a concussion occurs. Cheer Manitoba is committed to increased education, awareness, and established protocols that will assist you in gaining the knowledge and skills required ensuring the safety of your athletes. We can all work together to ensure a safe sport environment.

We talked about all things "concussion" with those who've experienced them first hand - our athletes. Hear the stories of Cassidy Nicholls, Jordan Reeves, Amber Balcaen, and Devan Chisholm, local grassroots and professional athletes who've participated in a wide range of sports and who all know what it's like to have a concussion and live with its impact.

With this video and our existing concussion resources, Sport Manitoba is committed to increasing education and awareness that will assist in gaining the knowledge and skills required to ensure the safety of Manitoba's athletes.
