Covid-19 Update - October 5, 2021

The Province of Manitoba has moved to Orange (Restricted) on the pandemic scale. As per the public health order:

All persons are prohibited from assembling in a gathering involving more than

  • 25 persons or 25% of the usual capacity of the premises, whichever is lower.

  • 50 persons at an outdoor place.

The restrictions do not apply if attendance at a gathering is restricted to the following:

  • persons who produce proof vaccination;

  • persons who produce proof from the Government of Manitoba that there is a medical reason for the person not to receive a vaccine for COVID-19;

  • persons under 12 years of age.

Indoor sporting and recreational facilities, including dance schools and martial arts studios, must not operate unless admission of members of the public to the facility is restricted to the following:

  • persons who produce proof of vaccination;

  • persons who produce proof from the Government of Manitoba that there is a medical reason for the person not to receive a vaccine for COVID-19;

  • persons under 18 years of age.

Masks are required indoors. The operator of an indoor public place must ensure that every person who is not wearing a mask while in the indoor public place is given a reminder to do so as soon as practicable. This does not apply to:

  • a child who is under five years of age;

  • a person with a medical condition that is unrelated to COVID-19, including breathing or cognitive difficulties or a disability, that prevents them from safely wearing a mask;

  • a person who is unable to put on or remove a mask without the assistance of another person;

  • a person who is swimming or engaged in other athletic activities, including referees and other game officials;

  • a person who needs to temporarily remove their mask while in the indoor public place for the purpose of

    • receiving a service that requires the removal of their mask,

    • consuming food or drink,

    • an emergency or medical purpose, or

    • establishing their identity.

For the purposes of these Orders, a person is considered to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 if

  • they have received two doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna or AstraZeneca/COVISHIELD vaccine for COVID-19 or two doses of any combination of those vaccines and at least 14 days have passed since they received their last vaccine dose; or

  • they have received the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine and at least 14 days have passed since they were vaccinated.

Cheer Manitoba’s Return to Play committee has reviewed and updated the cheerleading RTP and is currently awaiting approval from Sport Manitoba. Updates will be provided as soon as they are available.
